Three Chaldean Women Remember the Gulf War
an interview
Members of Iraq's Christian minority have a complex standing in both Iraq and in the United States, where they are often punished for their heritage. This interview with three Chaldean students at Cuyamaca College in December, 2000, provides a unique and important perspective of the events of early 1991, when the United States conducted bombing raids on Iraq. Discussing what it was like to be in Baghdad in January, 1991, and in San Diego public schools at the same time, the three wishing-to-remain-anonymous students give us all food for thought.
After Detroit, San Diego is home to the largest population of Chaldeans in the U.S.
